Women and hair color go hand in hand but all too often disasters occur. This is when women decide to either do it themselves or don’t know what they are doing. Getting a new hair color can help to give us a different outlook on life and it’s a great way to boost your confidence or just give you that much needed change.
Listed below you will find some great tricks and tips for choosing hair colors:
- If it is your first time to color your hair, you should try to stay as close a possible to your natural color. This way it won’t be too noticeable when your roots start growing especially if you don’t like it.
- If it is your first time to color your hair, you should also consider using a temporary or washout color. This allows you the opportunity to wash it out if you don’t like the result.
- If you hair is naturally dark in color you will not be able to dye it lighter using a home kit. You will need to consult a stylist who will advise you on your options.
- If you are going to do highlights from home, be sure to have someone there to help you. You cannot rely on mirrors and having another set of eyes can make a big difference to the end result.
- Try not to go to extremes, if your hair is naturally light and you dye it to a much darker color you will need to take into consideration that fact that you will also need to purchase new make up as it is highly likely that you will look pale and sickly with your new hair color.
- If you are looking to dye your hair blonde, consult your hair stylist. Dying your hair blonde is the hardest color to achieve and if done incorrectly your hair could end up yellow or even green.
