Once the symptoms subside then one needs to have an all-fruit diet for at least three days. Apples, grapes, oranges, grape-fruits, pears, pineapples, melons and peaches can be preferred. These may be taken at an interval of five hours. Coconut water is a useful remedy for gastritis. Rice gruel is also good for gastritis. Potato juice is extremely beneficial. It subsides the toxic condition, which is causing the inflammation. Marigold herb is also good. A tablespoon daily will give relief. One should avoid alcohol, spices, tobacco, red pepper, meat, pickles, sour food, strong coffee and tea. Also pastries, sweets, aerated water and rich cakes need to be avoided. One has to go in for a well balanced diet, which includes nuts, vegetables, grains and fruits.
