Muscles, when used for a longer period of time and are overstrained can become stiff and result in inflammation, causing much discomfort and pain. We use our body for various activities, whether performing the daily chores or earning our livelihood. Working in the garden, doing our daily exercise, working on the computer or simply watching television, we use our muscles, whether those of the back, wrist or legs. When we over use them, it results in stiffness.

As we grow older, we also tend to develop muscle stiffness. Our movements get restricted. What is required is toning up the muscles, and regular exercise. Athletes also face this problem, when they over exert themselves.

    Please could you tell me why stiffness is only felt on the 2nd day after exercising.

    iface body stiffness and have irregular and scanty periods is it related with each other
