Muscles, when used for a longer period of time and are overstrained can become stiff and result in inflammation, causing much discomfort and pain. When we over use them, it results in stiffness.

- Wrist Stiffness – We use our hands very often. We perform so many activities with them. Daily chores need to be completed, memos have to be written in the office, articles have to be typed so on so forth. In other words, we use our hands very frequently. In fact, sportsmen use them to play the game and as a result the wrist gets strained. Even those who use the computer for a long time face wrist problems. The problem over a period of time can become quite severe and is known as carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Neck Stiffness – Sitting for too long in front of the computer or watching television can cause neck stiffness. One must take regular breaks, while working on the computer. A break of 5 minutes for every hour is good or one can do so more frequently.
- Shoulder stiffness – This is also caused when we use the computer for too long or overexert our body.
- Leg Stiffness – The muscles can become rigid and stiff as the muscles become weak. Standing and walking becomes difficult under such circumstances.

Please could you tell me why stiffness is only felt on the 2nd day after exercising.

iface body stiffness and have irregular and scanty periods is it related with each other
