Cessation of menses is known as menopause, which normally occurs in mid-40s or early 50s. It is end of the reproductive life of the female, which starts at adolescence or early teens.

- More intake of calcium. One should take more of Vitamin D which helps compensate the loss of calcium. Daily supplement of magnesium (500mg) and calcium (2gm) is advisable.
- Beet juice is beneficial. Take it in small amounts of 60 to 90 ml, 3 times in a day.
- Carrot juice is good. In a glass of cow’s milk, put a teaspoonful of carrot seeds and boil for about 10 minutes. Take it as medicine.
- Liquorice is a good remedy. It contains estrogen which is a natural female hormone. It helps in making up for the hormones which are lost.
- Indian Spikenard is useful for certain disturbances. It soothes the nervous system and makes the mind tranquil.
