Pyorrhea refers to the discharge of pus in the teeth. People of all ages get affected by it. It is due to bacterial activity on one’s gums. It is a major cause of tooth loss among adults.
Symptoms of Pyorrhea
- Gums are constantly red and condition gets aggravated while brushing.
- Blood is present in the inter spaces located between the teeth.
- Gums swelling – it may appear and disappear.
- Gums get recessed – Teeth get longer then they are.
- The teeth get loose from the gums.
- Bad breath.
- Pain while chewing and biting food.
Home Remedies for Pyorrhea
- Take some mustard oil and add salt to it. Rub the mix on the gums gently after brushing the teeth.
- Make a brew of some pointed gourd leaves, little bit of ginger, sacred fig root, black pepper and rock salt in water. After the decoction is prepared, strain the content through a piece of cloth and let it cool. Then gargle with it.
- Take about 4 to 5 pieces of banyan tree bark, boil them in water. Let the essence of the bark get steeped into water. Boil it for half an hour. Turn off the flame and let it cool. Strain this decoction through a piece of cloth. Use this mix to gargle.
- Blend 200 milliliters of some Castor oil, 5 gms of camphor and 100 milliliters of some honey. Immerse a Margosa twig in this mix and rub the teeth with it.
- Rub juice of lemon directly on the gums.
- Fill your mouth with sesame oil and let it be for 10 minutes. Gargle with the oil and throw it out after the ten minutes period.
- Burn a few pieces of the trunk of the babul tree. Blow off the flame before complete combustion. A coke – like stuff will result out of this. Store the pieces in dry, cool place. Each morning take a piece and then dab it with salt. Clean the teeth with it.
- Take pure ghee and add camphor to it. Apply the paste on the gums twice in day, in the morning and in the evening.
- Powder some pepper and add salt to it. Gums need to be massaged with this mix.
- Cut a guava into four quarter pieces. Apply salt on them. Bite the guava and have it. This will smear Vitamin C on the teeth.
- Drink a mixture of spinach and carrot juice of equal measure.
- Eating an orange and rubbing its skin on the teeth is good.
- Mix some pepper along with common salt with some pomegranate dry rind. Apply the mix to strengthen gums.
- Chew some lettuce leaves after having meals.
- Get rid of the outer peel of banana and have it with the inner thread peel.
- Boil Fenugreek in a litre of water and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Have it regularly.
- Breathing exercise need to included in daily exercise routine.
Pyorrhea causes bad breath. It indicates poor dental hygiene. One can make use of home remedies to treat the condition.
