What is Gout and what are the symptoms?
Gout is a disease whereby the joints get inflamed and is a type of arthritis. The uric acid builds up in the blood causing gout. Uric acid occurs due to the breakup of waste substances, known as purines inside the body. It is normally dissolved in blood and kidneys process it. It finally passes out through the urine. - One of the best home remedy for gout is to avoid fried foods. Anything that is fried in oil and heated should be avoided. The heated oil becomes rancid which then destroys Vitamin E due to which the release of uric acid is increased
- Amino acid Glycine should be completely avoided by people suffering from this disease. Glycin could get converted to uric acid fast for people with Gout
- Alfalfa is one of the best home remedy for Gout. It has ample minerals and nutrients that help in reducing serum uric acid
- Caffeine, eggs, peas, yeast, fish, cauliflower and lentils should be completely avoided by people suffering from the disease
- Do not eat any meat as any type of meat contains high amount of uric acid
- Other food items that should be avoided in people with Gout are sugar, and sugar products, white flour, pies and cakes
- Apply ice to the affected area. It will reduce the inflammation and pain

- Uncooked vegetable juices are very good for gout
- One must maintain proper weight. Obesity can cause gout. One must maintain health in order to prevent such attacks. Doctors advise a diet that is less in calories and has more protein, but is less in fat.
- Avoid nonprescription water pills as well as other diuretics- These actually slow down the uric acid being excreted, which actually builds up in one’s blood as well as increases the risk of gout.
