Cystitis is inflammation of the urinary bladder. Cystitis refers to the condition in which bacterial gets into the bladder. Bacteria can enter through “external urinary meatus”. The infection can also be secondary to another infection that has developed in another part of the urinary bladder. It is not a disabling condition, but can prove to be difficult for those who suffer from chronic disability or illness. Below are some of the natural treatment methods for Cystitis. Beneficial Home Remedies for Cystitis
Some of the top home remedies for Cystitis is as given below:
- Cucumber juice – It is an effective diuretic. One cup of cumber juice along with a teaspoon of honey as well as one tablespoon of lime juice to be given three times in a day. This remedy has lot of therapeutic effects and is one of the best natural treatment methods for cystitis.
- Radish Leaves – One cup of juice once in a day in the morning for about a fortnight.
- Drumstick Flowers – Mix a teaspoon of the juice in half a glass of tender coconut water and have it twice in a day.
- Spinach – Take 100 ml of fresh juice of spinach with equal amount of tender coconut water about 2 times in a day. It contains the combined action of potassium and nitrate.
- Lady’s finger – Make a decoction of 100 gm of lady’s fingers and water 200 ml and take twice in a day.
- Lemon – Put 1 teaspoonful of lemon juice in boiling water (180ml). Let it cool down. Take about 60 ml of this water every 2 hours from 8.00 a.m till around 12 noon. This controls the burning sensation and also stops the bleeding inside the cystitis.
- Sandalwood oil – Give five drops initially and slowly increase it to 10 to about 30 drops. Its efficacy can be enhanced by adding one teaspoonful of carom seeds in water (1 glass ) or about 10 gm of ginger mixed in about water (1 cup).
- Barley – Mix about half glass of barley with butter milk and the juice of 1/2 lime. Take it twice in a day.
- At the initial stage avoid solid foods. Fast on tender coconut water for about 3 to 4 days.
- In case there is no fever take juices of raw vegetables and carrot juice. Mix half glass of carrot juice with equal amount of water and take it at a time.
- All fruit diet is very good. Avoid refined carbohydrates salt while cooking and having food.
- Take Rest.
- Keep warm.
- Drink lots of water for the bacteria to be flushed out so that it is does not sting that much while urinating.
- Have watermelon juice daily.
- Eat cabbage and garlic daily.
- Have fresh onion juice daily.
- Take 2 to 3 glasses of pomegranate juice every day.
- Fruits such as pineapple and oranges are very good.
- Eat banana bark as it is extremely beneficial.

- Infection from kidneys and the urethra.
- Stones inside the kidneys, enlarged prostate.
- Inflammation and irritation inside the bladder and constipation.

- Burning sensation while passing out urine.
