Ancient Chinese medicine evolved in creating potions that make the emperors immortal. Quest for Ancient China Herbs began 2000 years ago. A medical science called Traditional Chinese Medicine [TCM] has been established.

For over years Chinese physicians are using ‘ma huang’ one of the Ancient China Herbs to treat asthma. Huangqui, commonly known as astragalus is used to cure fatigue and general malaises. Huang-qin, known as Baikal skullcap cures viral infections and bleeding. Chinese sage’s root is used to cure menstrual disorders, arthritis and angina pectoris. Don Quai stimulates the production of red blood cells and bone marrow, increases cardiovascular endurance regulates menstrual disorders. Condonopsis tungsten called as bellflower is used to make dang shen, which invigorate the function of spleen and lungs. Da Zao [black dates] cures stomach disorders. You qi zi [Lycii berries] nourish the liver and kidneys and is beneficial for diabetics. Suan zao ren [zizipus jujuba] cures irritability and insomnia. Hu Ma Ren [Black Seasame Seeds] nourishes and fortifies the liver, kidney and lubricates the intestines. Lian zi [Lotus seeds] clears heartburn and cures post-menstrual problems. Schisandra [wu wei zu] prevents fluid loss like excessive sweating, runny nose and incontinence.

Ancient China Herbs can be used in soups, congees and vegetable dishes. Some herbs are fibrous roots that are not digestible in the raw form. They can be cooked in cheesecloth and consumed. Some herbs need to be presoaked to start the process of extracting the essence.
