Boils are painful. They can infect any part of the body and is often seen as red pus filled swellings. They are formed due to bacteria, which lives on the surface of the skin. Cause of skin boils
Cause of skin boils includes:
- Bacteria (Staphylococcus) which enters hair follicles or sweet glands.
- This disease could also be caused due to blood impurities.
- The Boil first appears when bacteria affect the skin multiply under it and produce toxic chemicals which then inflame surrounding areas.
- The body immune system tries to combat this and rushes more and more white blood cells at the point of infection until it is a pocket is formed and filled with pus on the skin.
- The center of the boil is this pocket.
- One of the major factor for boils is toxic condition of the blood stream due to faulty diet and wrong style of living.
Symptoms of boils include infection at legs, trunk or arms. The initial symptom is small painful red area on the skin, which appear swollen. It creates irritation and itching. With the formation of pus the center becomes yellow with an increase in swelling and pain. Fever can sometimes accompany boils.
Home treatment of boil
Home treatment of boil includes:
- Dry Ginger and Asafetida and water paste could be applied on the infected areas.
- A paste is made out of turmeric powder and Holy Basil juice. This paste could be applied over the Boils.
- Same paste could be taken internally. This paste is a great blood purifier and has anti-bacterial properties.
- Betel leaf warmed coated with castor oil should be applied on the boils 2-3 times a day.
- A paste of mustard seeds is also a great home remedy for boils.
- Prepare a cupful of fresh juice out of Bitter Guard. Mix 1 teaspoon of limejuice. Consume it in empty stomach sip by sip. Bitter Guard is an effective home remedy for boils, rather it is one of the best home remedies for lot of skin related ailments.
- Paste of Cumin seeds with water could be applied on boils for fast relief.
Avoid tea, coffee, sugary foods like chocolates, pastries or cakes etc. Other food items to avoid are pickles and sauces.
