Weight loss, Difference between overweight and obesity


People use "Overweight" & "Obesity" for a person whose weight is above then normal. The fact is that these words are not similar but there is a hell lot of difference between two. lets have a look at the dictionary meaning of the two.

Overweight: Weighing more than is normal, necessary, or allowed, especially having more body weight than is considered normal or healthy for one's age or build.
Obesity: The condition of being obese; increased body weight caused by excessive accumulation of fat.

The medical dictionary defines these two as:

Obesity: A bodily condition marked by excessive generalized deposition and storage of fat.
Overweight: Over heaviness
